Severance Agreements

Severance agreements serve two functions: to respectfully transition a separated employee and to add an additional layer of protection to the company in the case of a termination. In addition to commonly incorporating a general release of claims, severance agreements can also include confidentiality, non-disparagement, trade secret, non-compete, and/or non-solicitation agreements, among others. Severance agreements can also remind or correct any faults in a prior agreement that is being incorporated into the severance agreement, such as an employment contract.

The attorneys at Walcheske & Luzi are a resource for your business who will partner with you to understand your priorities. We will review and modify your existing severance agreements or create new agreements to ensure that they are not only respectfully transitioning your separated employees, but also benefitting and protecting your business to the fullest extent possible.
